Access Manager utilises a special system for storing user options
and preferences, often referred to as application configuration
settings.
Access Manager does not use the Windows Registry to store
configuration information. Instead, these settings are stored
in the AccessManager.config file which is located in the
installation folder. This has a number of advantages:
- The
AccessManager.config file is encrypted and can only be opened by
the Access Manager program. This keeps all configuration
information private and secure.
- Storing
configuration information with each installation allows each copy
of Access Manager to have its own settings. This is useful
when using Access Manager on a USB drive or other portable
media.
-
Information stored in the Windows Registry is not secure.
Access Manager stores certain configuration information that you
might want to keep private, for example: the location of import and
export files.
